Insurance Law

The Insurance Law Department of Benjamin, Yocum & Heather, LLC, which is chaired by principal Timothy P. Heather, represents insurance companies and their insureds throughout the state and federal courts of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The firm is actively engaged in all areas of tort and insurance defense law, including motor vehicle accidents, product liability, property damage claims, and declaratory judgment actions.

The MIST (minor impact soft tissue) and Special Investigations Unit/Fraud Group of the firm’s Insurance Law Department, led by principal, Anthony J. Iaciofano, vigorously defends against claims made against insurers and their insureds which involve excessive and unnecessary medical treatment and/or fraudulent-appearing bodily injury and property damage claims. Much of the work done in these areas relates to pre-suit activities such as obtaining examinations under oath from claimants; working with medical, arson, cause and origin, and biomechanical experts; and a close coordination of efforts with the particular claims adjuster assigned to a claim.
